Habben Hennen & Co., P.A.

Alan Habben
CPA, Partner

Alan achieved his CPA designation in 1980 after graduating from St. Cloud State University in 1979. He started his career working for Larson Allen in 1980, and afterwards spent a short time working in Decorah, IA. A business opportunity presented itself in 1984, calling him back to the state of Minnesota (Paynesville, specifically). The partnership Frieler Habben accounting was formed shortly after, and in 1996, the partnership changed to Habben Hennen & Co.

Al has been an active member of the community, as some positions from the past and present include: serving on the PNLS Hockey board, Koronis Hills Golf Course Executive Board, and being the Financial Advisor to the local EDAP board (just to name a few). He still continues to be the managing partner of Habben Hennen & Co.

She received her designation as a Registered Accounting Practitioner in 2003, and now specializes in tax preparation (farm/business/individual/corporation/partnership/ and trusts), general ledger bookwork, financial statement preparation, auditing, payroll preparation, and all related payroll tax forms.

Jean Nichols

Jean, a Rasmussen Business College Graduate (1999),  has been employed with Habben Hennen & Co. since June 2001.  She handles the reception duties of greeting clients, answering phones, and taking appointments.  On the accounting side of things, she processes: payroll and related tax returns, general ledger accounting, and lawful gambling returns.

Chris Jacobson
Staff Accountant

Chris joined the firm in October (2008). He holds an AAS degree in Business Administration from Rasmussen College, and is in the process of completing his Bachelors' degree in Accounting at St. Cloud State University. He is responsible for personal tax preparation, basic audit field work, and anything else that’s put on his plate.

He is also responsible for managing the content of this website (please direct any questions or concerns regarding the website to him).

Ellen Habben
Administrative Assistant (seasonal)

Ellen comes in to assist us each year during those crazy months that we like to call "tax season".  During that time, you'll find her in the front office handling reception duties, preparing tax returns to be handed out, and assisting Jean with other various issues.

She provides that extra support during a critical time at the office, and there's no way Habben Hennen & Co. would operate as smoothly as it does without her.
